TD Canada First Class Travel Visa credit card Travel Medical Insurance

When td visa card member leave your province of residence, you'll automatically be covered for up to $1,000,000 of unexpected emergency medical expenses, including hospital bills, doctors and diagnostic tests (if the tests are approved in advance). You'll be covered for trips up to 8 days2 long if you're under 65, and 2 days2 if you're 65 or older.

If you have a medical emergency, call the Emergency Assistance Center: 1-866-374-1129 from Canada or the U.S. or, from other countries, call collect at 416-977-4425. Expert medical advisors and coordinators can help you get to a doctor or hospital and handle eligible payments. It's important to call right away to ensure you get the maximum benefit; some expenses are only eligible if approved in advance.

There are some limitations and exclusions to your coverage. For example, costs that relate to pre-existing conditions are not covered. Also, if you don't contact the Emergency Assistance Center immediately, benefits will be reduced to 80% of what would otherwise be payable, to a maximum of $30,000. Please read your certificate of insurance for full details of coverage, eligibility, limitations and exclusions, and take it with you on your trip.
